在北京这座繁华的都市里，刘宇执和赵安娜是普通的三千万分之一，他们一个是在互联网公司加班不息的程序员，一个是在旅游公司策划诗和远方的编辑。两个素昧平生的人因为同样的喜好——磁带在音像店相识，在之后的生活里，刘宇执和赵安娜通过手机通信渐渐的熟悉，虽然两个人会因为自身的性格和生活环境而偶有矛盾，但共同的喜好，相似的经历还是让他们慢慢的走进彼此。刘宇执也对赵安娜渐生爱意。然而性格内敛的刘宇执越是喜欢赵安娜越是感觉害怕告白失败的后果而束缚了手脚。刘宇执的死党火柴在一次party上设局本打算撮合刘宇执和赵安娜，却万没想到阴差阳错让赵安娜回了初恋男友的怀抱。失落至极的刘宇执通过时间渐渐的走出了伤痛，重拾了生活的信心，而原以为再次找到幸福的赵安娜也渐渐感到眼前的生活并非是自己想象的那样，两人接下来的人生轨迹会有怎样的变化？在这座那么大又那么小的城市里，他们终究是再次的擦肩而过还是为对方驻留了脚步。
